Stop for a sweet.
This is a double whammy in my book. Sometimes when time and money are really low, but my husband and I need some “adult time,” we go for a nice night out of just dessert after dinner. This is great because not only are you saving money by not splurging on a full dinner out, but most restaurants have their desserts prepped, so you aren’t waiting a while for your sweet fix to arrive. You’ll be back within an hour, but feel refreshed from getting some quality time with the love of your life.
Dine-In for two.
Create a nice dinner at home, decked out with candlelight and all the fixings of a restaurant style dinner without breaking the bank. What’s even better for us is if we (or our sitter) are pressed for time before the kids get restless, one of us can take care of the kids while the other gets dinner ready, then the babysitter only needs to watch the children for an hour or so while we have a nice dinner at home.
Studies have shown that working out with your husband is a great relationship builder. Not only are you releasing a load of endorphins while working out, but partner workouts are great team building exercises, plus it really doesn’t cost anything. Whether you live in an apartment that comes equipped with a gym, have a gym membership, or just jog to your local park, working out is the best (and cheapest) date night out there!
Movie Night…At Home
With all the streaming memberships available, it really is unnecessary to actually go to the movie theaters and drop $20 – $30 to watch a show on the big screen – we leave that budget for our favorite movies. But if we are just looking for a great relaxing date night, we prefer to cozy up on the couch with a free movie on Netflix of Amazon Prime.
